ABOUT OUR PRACTICE
At Renew Animal Assisted Therapy & Counselling, therapy doesn’t happen in a sterile office, it unfolds in a peaceful bushland setting, surrounded by horses, dogs, and nature. Our approach is deeply trauma-informed and grounded in genuine connection, offering a safe, non-judgemental space for people who may not have felt seen or supported in traditional settings.

What sets us apart is the co-therapy of animals and environment. Whether it’s a child with anxiety finding calm alongside a horse, or an adult experiencing depression, every session is shaped by presence, patience, and attunement. We work gently and flexibly, with a heart for supporting neurodivergent individuals, trauma survivors, and anyone needing a quieter way to heal.
We have a special interest in supporting neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD and Autism, as well as young people aged 12–25. All services are delivered by a registered allied health professional and are available to self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants.
WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Paul
Our daughter thoroughly enjoys working with Karene and the therapy animals, and has benefitted greatly from this unique and supportive environment.

Sandi
I highly commend and endorse that Karene provides an ethical, safe, inclusive and professional experience in my daughters counselling.

Cliff
We see the profound therapeutic benefits the horses bring to the sessions; they have the benefit of allowing Karene to be less obvious, guiding, prompting and healing almost invisibly.

Trish
My son looks forward to the fortnightly sessions. That in itself is a contrast to all other therapists he has had iover the years
